Professional Experience

Samuel has extensive experience representing clients across a range of sectors, including financial services, extractives, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing. He has appeared before various courts in Ghana, both presenting and defending claims on behalf of individuals, corporate entities, and institutions. His representative matters include:

• Representing a group of workers who were unlawfully prevented from forming and joining a trade union.

• Acting for clients in maritime-related insurance claims before the High Court.

• Representing clients in a defamation suit over comments made on social media

• Representing employees in cases involving sexual harassment, as well as unlawful and unfair termination.

• Advising and representing parties in shareholder disputes.

• Handling succession disputes within religious institutions.

• Serving as defence counsel in serious criminal cases, including allegations of murder, kidnapping, and causing financial loss to the state.

• Advising on and assisting with extradition proceedings.

Industry Engagement and Recognition

Samuel has authored and edited several notable legal publications, including the Criminal Law Report of Ghana, the Commercial Law Report of Ghana, and the Ghana Law Journal. He is the founding editor of the Ghana Law Hub, an online platform dedicated to advancing Ghanaian legal thought and scholarship.

He has also served for several years as an external author for Lexis Assure, LexisNexis’ flagship compliance product, providing expert commentary on Ghana’s legal and regulatory landscape.

In recognition of his contributions to legal scholarship, Samuel was recently awarded a prestigious fellowship by the Norwegian Centre for the Law of the Sea.
